Come and visit us on Saturdays at the Royal Oak Farmers’ Market from 7am-1pm and at Eastern Market from 7am to 3pm! In Royal Oak, we are located outside at the south side of the building. At Eastern Market we are at the south end of Shed #2. For July 31st, you can choose from the freshest Tomatoes, Hot Peppers, Edamame, Cucumbers, Cabbage, Collards, Kale, Broccoli, Swiss Chard, Radishes, Cilantro, Basil, Parsley and Summer Squash.

Coming soon:
Potatoes and Carrots.

We are still looking for donations to reach our goal of $20,000. The money raised through these donations will be used for expenses such as an irrigation system, start-up fees and permits, the initial compost, a gravel parking lot, a portable shed, screening shrubbery and a marquis sign. To thank you for your financial support, you will receive a $5-off coupon for every $25 donated to be redeemed at our Farmers Market counter this summer.

Donations can either be made though Paypal or by sending a check to Royal Oak Forward, 4000 Crooks Rd, Suite -100D, Royal Oak, MI 48073.

100% of the farm profit will benefit the Royal Oak Foundation for Public Education.

Lettuce Rock!

Event Description:

This community-wide event will be held at the Farmers Market from 5pm-12am on Saturday, April 17th. Admission is $5 (children under 5 years old are free.) There will be live entertainment, food and alcohol sales, business and non-profit representatives, raffles and tons of kids’ activities. We invite everyone to come and see what makes Royal Oak great while making money for the Farm!

Wanted: Budding landscape designers

Four Seasons Garden Center & Custom Landscape Services in Oak Park, Michigan is coordinating a design challange, “Lettuce Design”, for the flower garden at the Royal Oak Community Farm. The flower garden will fill up the 25-foot deep by 100-foot wide southern border that separates the farm from 11-Mile. Anyone over the age of 18 can register for this contest on Four Season’s Facebook page or at the Garden Center located at 14471 W. 11 Mile in Oak Park. The first prize winner will receive a copy of their professionally-rendered design and a $200 gift certificate from Four Seasons Garden Center & Custom Landscape Services. The second and third place winners will be awarded a $100 and $50 gift certificate respectively. All winners will be notified on May 7 and the winning designs displayed at Royal Oak in Bloom on May 9. A Step Outside of the Box

I have had many run-ins with A Step Outside of the Box over the past few years. As a mother of three girls, I’ve attended quite a few parties at their dynamic store and still have many of the adorable crafts made at those birthday parties sprinkled throughout the house. I have also had the pleasure of seeing them in action with one of their many philanthropic efforts, Mountain of Mittens.
